Motorola’s latest Moto Mod slaps a $200 Polaroid printer to your phone

19:15 0

Motorola

Today, Motorola announced the newest Moto Mod to join the Moto Z lineup: the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer. We’ve known it was coming for a few months, and now it’s available for preorder. It’s got a physical shutter you can use to launch the camera and snap a photo, which it can then print on 2 x 3-inch ZINK paper. In addition to printing photos from the camera roll, it can also print photos from Instagram, Google Photos, and Facebook.
It’ll be available for $199.99 in the US at Verizon and Motorola.com starting Friday, November 17th. That’s not cheap considering that the latest Polaroid OneStep 2 is $99, and the ever-popular Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 comes in all sorts of festive colors for $70. But most Moto Mods aren’t cheap: prices range from $70 for the Gamepad Moto Mod to $250 for the Hasselblad True Zoom camera attachment.

Motorola

Priciness aside, it’s also pretty bulky. It’s not slim enough to slip into a pocket, and if you’re going to be carrying around a printer, you might as well just bring a proper instant camera. Further confusing its own nostalgic mission, the Insta-Share boasts that it lets you customize photos with filters, borders, and text, which defeats the entire purpose of an instant camera! There are no redos in life! I’m against this

KELLY CLARKSON GIST ON SEX LIFE WITH BRANDON BLACKSTOCK

19:02 0

Kelly Clarkson is opening up about enjoying some private time with her husband, Brandon Blackstock.
The 35-year-old singer covers Redbook's December/January 2018 issue, and had no issue opening up about their sex life. Particularly, the fact that the two like to keep things spontaneous.
“Any time we’re in a discussion about sex with a bunch of couples, Brandon and I stay pretty quiet," Clarkson tells the magazine. "To keep it family appropriate, let’s say we’re just a lot more active than other couples."
"I’m a person who loves change," she adds. "He loves spontaneity. Having a set time or place [to have sex] would be boring to us. When I met Brandon, I wasn’t looking for a friend. I have a lot of great friends! I was looking for a lover. I had never found someone I was truly passionate about, who I wanted to stay in bed with all day. The fact that I did, well…I was going to latch on and take advantage of that.”

The always candid singer also talked about her weight constantly being scrutinized and dealing with backlash even if she were to shed a few pounds.
"That's already happened to me. They shame you for it," Clarkson shares. "Same thing happened with Miranda Lambert -- I had dinner with her and we were talking about that. She was like, 'Should I gain? Should I lose?' But no one actually cares about your health. They just care about aesthetics."
"It’s when I’m fat that I’m happy," she continues. "People think, 'Oh, there’s something wrong with her. She’s putting on weight.' I’m like, 'Oh, no! I’m sorry, but that represents happiness in my emotional world.' For me, when I’m skinny is usually when I’m not doing well. If you gauge your life on what other people think, you’re going to be in a constant state of panic trying to please everyone. People should just concentrate on their own lives and their own health and their own happiness, and whatever that looks like for you, be happy with it.”

Amazon is turning The Lord of the Rings into a TV show

18:34 0

Earlier this month, news broke that Amazon was trying to close a deal to bring J.R.R. Tokien’s The Lord of the Rings to life as a television series, and now it looks like it’s actually going to happen. Amazon has announced that it has acquired the TV rights for the book series, with a multi-season commitment. But the twist is that this will apparently be a prequel to The Lord of the Rings, rather than the story audiences already know so well.
The Lord of the Rings is a cultural phenomenon that has captured the imagination of generations of fans through literature and the big screen,” Sharon Tal Yguado, head of scripted series at Amazon Studios, said in a statement. “We are honored to be working with the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins and New Line on this exciting collaboration for television and are thrilled to be taking The Lord of the Rings fans on a new epic journey in Middle Earth.”
Given the rather extensive attention direction Peter Jackson gave to The Lord of the Rings, not to mention The Hobbit, it’s not unreasonable to ask why Amazon would want to walk down this path in the first place (not to mention why audiences would). Part of it is Amazon Studios’ newfound focus, with Jeff Bezos himself reportedly asking the division to focus more on big, prestige-worthy shows with global appeal, similar to Game of Thrones. Given that the films are so well-known, it’s hard to see how yet another adaptation would solve that problem — but it appears that the Rings TV show will go beyond what the movies offered.

Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick has been accused of rape by a second woman.
The woman Aurélie Wynn claimed Ed sexually assaulted her in July 2014.
The actress, who went by the stage name of Aurelie Marie Cao, described the alleged attack on Facebook on Wednesday.
'In July 2014, I went through a very similar ordeal with Ed Westwick.'
'We all hung out until 5am, sun was starting to rise since it was summer so we all decided to get a few hours of shut eye since we all had events and things to do the next day and there are plenty of bedrooms.
'And like Kristina, I said no and he pushed me face down and was powerless under his weight.
'I was wearing a one piece bathing suit that he ripped, I was in complete shock, I am also very tiny.
'When it was over I got my cellphone and found that the girl that had invited me had left or got kicked out.
'I had terrible service in the estate without access to the wifi and had to get another friend to get me an Uber out of there while Ed was passed out.'

Is It True YQ’s Career Died With Dagrin?

11:46 0

Some people can be mean though!
Rapper YQ recently sat down for an interview with Planet TV where he talked about the state of music in the country today.
According to YQ, today’s artistes no longer make music as all the songs churned out on a daily are basically to impress and not to speak the truth, as music is meant to.
His interview got many riled up with a particular IG user outrightly slamming the rapper and asking that he keeps quiet and tend to his career which died when rapper Dagrin kicked the bucket.

Snoop Dogg Mocks President Trump Assassination With New Instagram Photo

Snoop Dogg's hatred for Donald Trump looks like an unending one as he comes for the controversial President again.

Recall the rapper first released a music video for BadBadNotGood's track 'Lavender' in March, where he was seen pointing a fake gun at the clown-like figure impersonating Donald Trump, complete with an orange face and blonde hair.

On Wednesday Snoop posted a photo on Instagram which shows him standing next to a dead man with a 'Trump' tag on his toe. The image appears to be the final cover of Snoop's upcoming album, 'Make American Crip Again.'

The photo is also a spitting image to Ice Cube's 1991 cover for "Death Certificate."

Tiwa Savage: How I Overcame My Marriage Crisis In 2016

18:28 0

In a male-dominated industry, Tiwa Savage is paving the way for artists to be referred to as artists not based on their genders but on impact. From Kele Kele Love to Ma Lo, she has proven over and over again why she’s not just the first lady of Mavin but the biggest female act in Africa.

Her journey has not been one without obstacles; from the shadows of singing in the background, writing songs, to making her way to X Factor UK where she advanced to final 24 but didn’t make it through. Like every success story ever written, she didn’t let all these deter her. With a degree in Business Administration and another degree in Professional Music from the Berklee College of Music, she came adequately prepared to take over the Nigerian music industry which she did.

Coming home and setting the pace is what Savage describes as “an interesting experience,” because, ”At that time there weren’t many other female artists in a similar musical lane as me. There were a lot of restrictions and it seemed that people were not ready for a female act who was very comfortable in her own skin to be making music in Nigeria.” She credits her success to her fans: “Without their support, it would not have been possible to break those limitations and show the music industry that the new age African woman was here to stay!”

Building a brand is never easy, not for an individual, a company or a nation. From her time in the UK to becoming a household name globally, Savage has gone on to become the first African woman to be signed to Roc Nation and her brand has been endorsed by the likes of Pepsi, Pampers, and more recently Profective MegaGrowth. As an artist who is conscious about her brand image which she affirms is the “strong, beautiful and fearless woman,” she speaks on her most recent endorsement saying, “Being chosen by MegaGrowth to become their ambassador was really exciting because their core values align perfectly with the Tiwa Savage brand. Both reflect a strong, beautiful and fearless woman which is everything I stand for so the collaboration made complete sense.”

Going further to speak on her goal as an artist, the dark-skinned beauty is comfortable with naming herself as a role model.

“Ultimately my goal as an artist is to show young women, particularly young African women, that with hard work and belief in yourself, there is nothing you cannot achieve. I want to leave a legacy that proves that. I want young women to proudly say “if Tiwa could achieve that, so can I.”

Savage is elated to reveal that she is currently inspired by women like Oprah Winfrey, Ava Duvernay, and Shonda Rhimes. “There are so many queens doing amazing things in the world right now… Each is breaking barriers and have shattered the glass ceiling for black women in film and TV.” Another woman who constantly inspires her is Bozoma ‘Boz’ Saint John. “She (Bozoma) was one of the top executives at Apple Music and was recently made the Chief Brand Officer at Uber in the U.S. She is one of the perfect examples of strong women who show that hard work pays, and the fact that she is an African-born woman is even more inspiring to me. She’s a respected boss, a businesswoman and manages to look fabulous whilst juggling it all,” she gushed.

It is no news that in 2016, Savage went through a dark phase in her life that took control of the narrative for her as an African woman, an African female artist, and an international brand. Since then, she has doubled down and has been riding on a new wave of positivity and strength which is showing in her recent works. Speaking of how she was able to bounce back, she says:

“My mother has always told me that, in this life, God only gives you what you can handle. It was a very trying time but God in His infinite mercies gave me the grace to see it through. It only made me stronger.”

This month, the songbird released an extended play (EP) called Sugarcane, which went No.1 on the Apple Music and iTunes World Chart. Also, recently, one of Africa’s finest and a constant collaborator with Savage, Wizkid, released an EP titled, Sounds From The Other Side which had solid reviews and drove social media crazy. Savage speaks about the new wave of EPs in the industry as opposed to albums as she answers the question of if EPs have become the new album in the music industry.

“I wouldn’t say EPs are the new albums, but music is definitely being consumed in a completely different way today than it was when I first started in music.” She explains further, “This is mainly because the attention span of people is getting much shorter. Labels and artists are choosing to release EPs rather than full albums because of the need consumers have for more music at a much quicker rate than before.”

It’s no hidden record that Savage has learnt her voice to the likes of George Michael, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Kelly Clarkson, to mention a few, as well as written songs for Fantasia and Monica. Speaking on songwriting, she admits to still writing her songs as well as working with co-writers, so we ask, does Tiwa Savage still write for other musicians?

“I’ve been quite focused on writing my own music of recent, so, I haven’t had much time to write for other artists as much as I used to, but I still co-write especially for my fellow label mates and vice versa. It’s definitely something that I will like to return to when I have more available time in my schedule.”

Nigerian artists have been jabbed at and ridiculed by critics saying there is really no depth to the lyrics of the songs being released nowadays. When asked based on her history in the industry on the considerations between writing songs in the past and now, she says. “Writing music comes naturally to me and it’s something I do pretty much every day. I wouldn’t say there are any considerations when writing as I write based on life experiences or how I’m feeling at the time.”

There have been a lot of comparisons to Savage’s brand and a lot of others who have risen after her. Reason being that, she came to a land that was not cultivated and can be called a pioneer for Afro pop for female artists. When asked what she does to make sure she stays ahead of that pack, she says, “I believe that there’s space for everyone in this industry. I’m a strong believer of being true to who you are and finding your own purpose as we all run our own race in life. There are some incredible females doing wonderful things and I hope to see more of us breaking barriers in music. I also look forward to the day that we are referred to as just ‘artists’ and not ‘female artists’.”

“I’m a strong believer of being true to who you are and finding your own purpose as we all run our own race in life.”

How to Delete yourself from the internet

19:35 0
Social media has made everyone’s life an open book (one that’s open a bit too far in some cases). As more and more companies and individuals come to rely on the Internet as a primary source of information about others, so too does the possibility of compromising info reaching the wrong person grow.

For folks concerned about their personal information potentially costing them jobs and relationships, or for those dealing with the harsh realities of social media fallout, the decision to “pull the plug” is an increasingly attractive one. And while it might seem impossible to keep your private life private and your Internet presence to a minimum in a 24/7 connected world, the truth is you can disappear online with a little effort and dedication.
The first step to keeping a low profile online is (as you may expect) to stop using social media sites and delete your accounts. If you’re confused about where to start, sites such as JustDelete.Meoffer links and tips to help you review your existing presence and get the process moving (and whether it is actually possible to delete your account at all).
Ready to erase your tracks and disappear online, once and for all? This infographic from Who Is Hosting This reveals the nine steps you need to take to remove your personal information collected all over the web.

Miss Nigeria: No Swimsuit Competition This Year, 2017

17:57 0
What is a beauty pageant without the swimsuit competition?

Miss Nigeria believes it can work.

According to the Miss Nigeria Organization, the main aim of the Miss Nigeria pageant is to promote positive attributes of Nigerian women.

In order to keep the focus on this, there will be no swimsuit competition or any other activity in the 2017 edition of the competition that does not show modesty, which also includes contestants not having visible tattoos or body piercings.

The organisers made this known while calling for entries into the Diamond Jubilee edition of Nigeria’s oldest beauty pageant.

The contest will see a queen crowned from 37 women who will be representing the states in Nigeria.

In addition to winning the crown, the winner of the Miss Nigeria competition will be rewarded with a luxury car, N3 million, one year free accommodation in Lagos as well as other prizes and benefits.
